Our boy turned 7 last Thursday, February 23rd. We can't believe Danny has been a part of our family for 7 years already. What an awesome time we have had watching him grow in so many ways. Every year we give the kids a choice to have a friends party or go on a family vacation. This is the first year Danny has chosen a friends party so have a party we did! We had 4 other families over Saturday night for a chess themed party (that's not a typo :)! Danny learned how to play chess over the summer and joined his school's Chess Club in the Fall. He has loved learning how to play this game and chose this as his party theme. Scott and I had to get really creative and decorated the house with black and white streamers, balloons, cut out chess pieces for the wall, and the kids thought of some pretty fun chess themed games to play with our guests. We invited four of our closet family friends from church and our neighborhood and most everyone got into the spirit and dressed in black and white for the party. We all had fun celebrating Danny's special day. Thanks to all our family and friends for sending sweet cards and messages to Danny...we love and miss you all!
