Back Fire!

 

 

Over the summer months...our lips got pretty loose around here. It started off with a few jokes here and there and then escalated into full blown naughty talk from all four kids all the time (you are right...we only have three kids but I am including Scott in this). Let me first define what naughty talk is here at the Paulson household. Naughty talk or "potty" talk as I would like to call it includes but is not limited to poop, fart, and any variation of those two words. Some examples include fart face, fart blaster, poopy head, poop shoot...you get the picture. Of course, with every naughty word spoken it provoked roars of laughter and even more new variations of the words noted above. Scott was right there with the kids if you can believe it...and I am sure some of you can! Ha Ha While like all good things this naughty talk had to come to an end. Thus, the pay dish was born. Every naughty word spoken by a kid costs them 10 cents. Every naughty word spoken by an adult costs 25 cents. (I have never had to pay into this word dish however if Scott keeps slipping up we may be broke by the end of this month :). All change gets taken to church on Sundays and is given as part of the offering. Well, I realized this new discipline method may be backfiring when Hilary came to me right before dinner time and handed me 2 dimes. I asked her what it was for and she explained that she is going to pay ahead of time so she can now say two naughty words at dinner time. She was so proud of herself and she couldn't wait to sit down for dinner and make all of us laugh with her naughty words. Of course, the other kids thought this was an awesome idea and have also made pre-payments to the naughty talk dish. Not exactly the discipline outcome we were hoping for! Ha Ha Time for plan B.................
