Happy Mother's Day

I had a fabulous Mother's Day today. The kids made such a big deal out of today...I felt so special. I received homemade gifts including a beautiful jewelry box, tin of chocolate pretzels, a book, pictures, and cards. I got breakfast in bed, lunch at Perkins, and a fun afternoon at the swimming pool with the kiddos. Scott got me some gifts for the kitchen and made me a new calendar with all the kid's pictures on it...so sweet. I had an extra special Mother's Day gift from Lindsey at church this morning. Lindsey was asked to read a poem in front of the whole congregation this morning at both the 9 and 11 services. What an honor to be asked and how brave of her to accept! She did a wonderful job and was so poised and confident we were beaming with pride. Here is the poem she read this morning:

The Fruit of the Spirit

My mom is a Christ-follower
In every important way;
The fruit of the Holy Spirit
Is displayed in her every day.

My mother is filled with kindness,
With love and joy and peace;
Her patience and her goodness
Inspire, and never cease.

She follows our Lord Jesus
With faithfulness, and more;
She's gentle and has self control,
She knows what prayer if for.

Thanks, Mom, for being a Christ-follower
And showing me how to be;
I'll follow your example
For all eternity.

I couldn't have asked for better children and a more loving husband. Thanks for a wonderful Mother's Day!

Dearest Lindsey, What a beautiful poem and an honor to be asked to read to the whole congregation! We are so proud of you!! Love forever, Grandpa & Grandma

We wish we could have been with you all -- but God has His plan in place.

And what a wonderful way to celebrate Mother's Day, dear Stephanie, with your loving family. Praise the Lord! God bless you all. Love, Mom & John
